Miss seeing  Isabella’s fashion editorials in magazines.  Such a loss.

This is the Farwell Building in Detroit, USA. It’s rather stunning, isn’t it? My last post was dedicated to ‘cabin porn’, well- this could serve as a classic example of ruin porn. The staircase is to die for and there’s something about this interior that reminds me of Mark Rothko’s art. Maybe it’s in teh neat geometry combined with the craziness and depth of colour, maybe because it’s all similiarly beautiful while being quite depressing to look at, maybe because for some reason I think Rothko would like this space. I’m not sure what it is exactly but for me this is Rothko style ruin. I love it.

Sidsjons mental hospital (Sweden). OK,of course  I know that mental ilness aint a joke and a laughing matter but in a way, how cool would it be to pretend to be crazy, run around and play hide and seek in this abandoned looney house!  I’m having a serious wallpaper fetish moment here, I can just see the crazies trying to count the flowers or picking one to live in like some sort of crazy Thumbelisa… Anyway, mental house with interior like this seems like a much more healthy (sic!) option as opposed to the usual puke-urin coloured walls in most of the mental hospitals. Since this one is empty, I like to imagine they all run away one day or maybe indeed maneged to walk into the trippy garden from that wallpaper and are still stuck in there up until now….

How gorgeously stylish is this house in a little Swedish town of Hjo. The wallpaper, the uber cool 1960s styling that, the colour scheme, it looks like a life sized dolls house. Sans the dolls. This is just pure cuteness.
